Francesca Adami
I grew up on the beautiful Isle of Wight, painting with my dear old friend, Cavendish Morton, who kindly took me under his wing in my school holidays. I then went on to study portraiture in Florence, inspired by the timeless, classical beauty of the Italian Renaissance. I am inspired by the many great painters that have gone before me, including my ancestors, Charles Robert Leslie RA and George Dunlop Leslie RA, who both painted Queen Victoria.

After Florence, I married my Australian husband and moved to Australia for many years, until finally moving back home to the Island in 2024. We came back because I unexpectedly found myself in intensive care, having what is known as a 'near-death' experience which changed my life completely! I was miraculously saved by my dear father and by God Himself, who brought me back to life and back home to the Island! We are so lucky to be back here, happy and healthy, and I'm back to my classical roots, painting portraits that don't just seek to convey recognisable realism, but are now imbued with the magical flow of light linking the soul with the heavenly realms beyond.

I am excited to be home again and am available for commissions and sales of current works.
